Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians covering the Velvet Underground
On March 15, 1997 during the late show at the Knitting Factory in NYC, Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians covered "I'm Set Free" by the Velvet Underground. They frequently covered Velvet's songs ("I'll Be Your Mirror", "Candy Says", "New Age", " I'm Waiting For My Man", etc) but this one happens to be a favorite of mine.
REM covering Wire
On August 23, 1985 while already covering the "Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stone, REM mixed "12XU" by Wire into the song. This was performed in Providence, RI at the Leroy Theatre.
Half Man Half Biscuit covering Camper Van Beethoven
On March 17, 2017, Half Man Half Biscuit covered "Take the Skinheads Bowling" by Camper Van Beethoven in Worthing, UK.
Echo and the Bunnymen covering The Modern Lovers
On May 6, 1985, Echo and the Bunnymen covered "She Cracked" by the Modern Lovers in Gothenburg, Sweden.
