Lambchop covering The Wedding Present
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love the Wedding Present.
Lambchop are a band that also intrigue me, perhaps because of their cover version of East River Pipe songs (hmmm, maybe I'll get to that later).
But here is a version of Kennedy by Lambchop recorded live in Hamburg, Germany on November 16, 2008.

The Feelies - "Carnival of Sorts"
Did the Feelies influence REM or did REM influence the Feelies? Well REM certainly gained more attention but the first Feelies album pre-dates the first REM single by two whole year. This was recorded at Southpaw in Brooklyn, NYC on September 13, 2009.

The Wedding Present - "Our Lips Are Sealed"
"Our Lips Are Sealed" was co-written by one of the Go-Go's and one of the Specials if my memory serves me right. Here we have the Wedding Present doing their version. I don't recall where I got this from or when it was recorded.

Non L.P. B SIDE Vol. 1 No. 3 --- Nov. 21, 1980
I used to pick up all of the freebie magazines on record hunting trips to Greenwich Village during my misspent youth. Here's the first issue I got.
John Peel's radio show May 19th, 1980
Listen to John Peel's radio show from May 19th, 1980 with a tribute to Ian Curtis. The Peel wikia site is nothing short of incredible.
You may think I constantly obsess about Ian Curtis but the truth is Mt. St. Helens blew its lid on May 18, 1980 and if you know me you'll know I want to be a volcanologist when I grow up - so the day has deep significance for me.
If you dig deep enough you'll even find Peel playing 3 songs by obscure indie band Tulips. One former member is now a co-worker.
